Nettles

Recommendation

Apply a thin layer of HYPOGEN CARE Wound Care Lotion to the affected areas or HYPOGEN CARE Wound Care Fluid for larger areas of eczema. Do not wash or wipe off, but allow to absorb or dry.

To make the skin generally more resistant, we recommend cleansing the skin with HYPOGEN CARE Shower Foam or on the face with HYPOGEN CARE Facial Cleanser.

It is generally recommended to avoid make-up during the acute phase of nettles. If this is not possible, the use of HYPOGEN CARE Make-up Remover Oil is ideal.

In the case of hives, additional medical advice should always be sought.

Features

Wheals or nettles are small blisters, usually filled with lymph / wound water, which occur as an allergy feature or due to foreign body action (blisters from pressure sores or insect bites).

Causes of wheals are e.g. previous infections, intolerances or allergies, as well as skin contact with toxic/irritating substances that trigger a defensive reaction. But also excessive cold, heat can cause this. Often several of these factors come together and then trigger wheals.

In the forced form, wheals occur diffusely distributed over larger sections of the body and can thus turn into hives(urticaria).

The wheal / nettle as such is technically called urticarium (plural; Urtica).
