The pH-balance technology buffers the pH value of skin and hair to a skin-neutral value of 5.5.

The term pH skin neutral is a popular term in hair and skin cosmetics: it is recognized that sophisticated care products must have a pH value of 5.5.

An average pH value of around 5.5 is essential for the natural conditioning and resistance of skin and hair. The background to this is that at a pH value of 5.5, the cell membrane complex of the skin - the most important component of thestratum corneum as a protective barrier and moisture reservoir - has an optimal barrier configuration. The same applies to the hair, in which the cell membrane complex connects the fibers and the cuticle rings of the hair and also stores moisture. In this, the densest possible configuration ("orthorhombic configuration"), the skin and hair are maximally conditioned and maximally resistant via the cell membrane complex. This has a positive effect on many things - for example

The pH-balance technology not only creates a buffer system for the pH value: it also contains a special biopolymer that forms an imperceptible and completely non-irritating microfilm on the skin or hair. There it regulates the pH value to 5.5 in the event of any environmental influences.

Example shaving ...

Most - almost all - pH-neutral conventional products have a pH value of 5.5, to which the formulation is adjusted. These products are supposed to not irritate the skin thanks to the supposed pH skin compatibility achieved in this way. However, they do not stabilize the pH value of the skin and hair. Skin and hair are still unprotected against pH influences - such as those caused by sweating or other external influences.
